AppLabs' www.Linux-Tested.com compatibility testing of this system showed the following distributions compatible with the IBM® Netfinity 5000:

    Notes and Observations:

    1. The S3 Trio onboard video chip does not have a functioning driver with any of the above-listed distributions. If the user needs X they must use the XF86_VGA16 X driver.

    2. The Caldera eServer 2.3 cannot do a standard NFS network install. Users are directed to the Caldera website to get instructions for doing a DHCP-based NFS install. Additional notes are available describing the pre-installation, installation, and set up related to the Linux Compatibility testing of the IBM® Netfinity 5000.
